Teaching

I have taught at post-secondary institutions, particularly at art schools, both undergraduate and graduate, a variety of courses in critical and creative writing, English, and art history.

At Emily Carr University of Art + Design, in Vancouver, British Columbia, I was a sessional (or in US terms “adjunct”) instructor from 2008 to 2014 when I obtained lecturer status, a position I held until 2022. While there, I received both the Ian Wallace and Chick Rice Awards for Excellence in Teaching.

I also was a guest lecturer at the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre in Brussels, Belgium, in 2016.

I hold a double major BA in English Literature (hons.) and Art History from the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, and an MA in English from York University, in Toronto. I also completed a year of graduate work toward an unfinished PhD in Art History at CUNY – Graduate Center, in New York City.

I am currently not teaching.
